Style Narcissism – Mini Florals & Braided Accessories

One of my new year's sub-resolutions for 2011 is to get more wear out of often neglected shoes. Like my cute brown braided Hugo Boss Orange sandals, even though I (very) recently just realized how perfectly they match with my Miu Miu braided belt (thankfully, this has given me extra incentive!). The reason I don't wear them that much?

A) Their color: Other than a pair of brown boots, I don't actually own any brown footwear & don't feel that comfortable wearing such a shade, as I believe it's plays a little bit too much of a match-matchy game with my hair. Yes, doesn't make much sense, but moving on…!

B) Their slip-on nature: It frightens me shitless to wear almost 4 inch heels with no platform, slingback or ankle strap & I often envision myself crossing a large Toronto intersection only to fall – SPLAT – right on my face. Which, actually, happens more frequently than I'd like to admit.

So the moral of the story is that the pictured pair of sandals, along with a few other pairs are going to be put a higher foot-rotation. Which will, in turn, have me spending less on new shoes that I don't really need*.

Do YOU have any shoes that sit sad, lonely & neglected in your wardrobe?!
