Are espadrilles shoes comfortable? More often than not, I would have to say no to that question. Especially with respect to the classic jute-soled, unlined styles that are both scratchy & lacking foot support.
Luckily, many hybrid & well constructed versions of this shoe have been popping up over the last Spring/Summer seasons in high heeled, flat & even sneaker espadrilles forms.
Many offer a comfortable alternative to the usually uncomfy original. Vionic with their Orthaheel technology insole offers a remarkably foot happy, updated take on this style!
Vionic Calypso Wedge Espadrilles Review
Their new their “Calypso” heels are comfortable wedge shoes for walking, standing, playing or whatever else you want to do while wearing them!
Sole Provisions — known for their comfortable shoe selection — offers the Calypso in gold leather, black suede & pewter (the version I'm wearing in this post).
They also offer a ton of other Vionic shoes, like the hi top snake print sneakers I previously reviewed, that I'm still wearing this chilly Spring season!

Shop the Look:
The “Calypso” is a comfortable espadrille wedge that features a jute-wrapped heel, canvas toe cap, rubber outsole & ankle straps.
But the best part of this wedge isn't just its fabulous look: it's the comfortable foot bed with arch support. I've walked a few times in these shoes & they're a fantastic shoe that you can actually walk in comfortably.
They have a 2.37 inch heel which is the perfect amount of height to lengthen the look of your legs, but also allow for actual walking! These strappy espadrilles are perfectly acceptable to wear to & from the office, to brunch & to take with you on your next vacation. They're somewhere in between fancy & casual, so they can easily take you from day to night.
The pewter leather style I chose is gorgeous & an original metallic hue to wear in contrast to the sea of black & gold shoes. Although I must admit that both the black and gold versions of this espadrilles wedge are pretty stunning as well 🙂
Most importantly, they pair perfectly with a Millenial Pink outfit 😉 I never realized until recently that I didn't own any pink clothing. I spotted this bejewelled tweed blazer from Zara a couple weeks ago & never looked back.
Maybe I should start buying a few more pink shoes for Spring to keep company to my classic fuchsia pink pumps & lens flare print Vionic sneakers!

Great looking espadrilles. And comfortable makes them even better. A friend of mine had a pair of espadrille with a similar form fit insole and she said she could walk for hours in her. Stylish and comfort have finally merged.

2.37 inches? Seems awfully specific. (Then again, it's pretty close to 6 cm.) That said, it looks pretty good on you.
