I've mentioned it various times on social media & in a recent post: these Nine West Canada orange, rose gold & silver mirror metallic strappy sandals are the current stars of my Spring shoe closet. My pick of the litter. The apples of my…well, feet!

For me, these sandals are what shoe dreams are made of: glossy, strappy, sexy & a little crazy. I love an original shoe like the next person, yet I want mine to be wearable. Not just for the comfort factor (very important as well!), but for the aesthetic too.
In my mind, there are two types of statement shoes: those that make others drool & those that make everyone laugh (or sometimes cry…really depends here!). I opt for the first, because even though I appreciate a ridiculously quirky shoe, I'm likely never going to wear a pair. Certainly not in Toronto, anyhow!
In my Nine West Canada Spring heels post where I unboxed & mini reviewed my favorite styles currently in store, I could only attest to these Howrude sandals' look & fit. I particularly like the adjustable buckles to allow for different foot widths, including my awfully narrow ones. But as I hadn't worn them outside yet, I couldn't talk about comfort. That was then!
Now remember, these are 4.5″ thin stiletto heels, so I was somewhat worried as my max heel height is usually around 4″. Turns out, between the ball of foot padding & half inch platform, these heels are no more difficult to walk in than a 3.5 inch heel (insert little dancing GIF here!). It helps that they hold my feet in well.
Could I run a marathon in them? No, but then again, I couldn't do that in a pair of sneakers either! However, these buckled sandals are not a problem to stand or walk in for a decent amount of time. As long as the weather's warm enough to prevent toe freezing (which could actually be a plus, numbing the feet for extra mileage, ha!)
At first glance, these multicolored metallic strappy sandals might seem difficult to style, but they're a surprising match to many outfits! Sort of like this bright yellow trench coat I snagged at Zara a couple seasons back. You'd think you'd have a tough time incorporating it into your wardrobe, but it looks surprisingly fabulous with so many outfit variations.
I've worn it with a Canadian Tuxedo, leopard & lace and casually with the perfect heels for winter. And it looks striking with each!
This time around, I paired them with white skinnies, because white pants are great for Spring + bursts of color. But really, wear them with any color (except for orange, as that hue might be too much!), all white or black clothes and jeans. These would look amazing with head-to-toe blue denim!
Thanks to Shop for Jayu for the delicate silver colored jewelry, which added the perfect amount of sparkle, complementing rather than competing, with these shoes 😉
These Howrude sandals also come in tan. Get them in Canada from ninewest.ca or shop these & other favorite Spring shoes over at the ShoeTease Shoe Shop.
