Vans Mountain Edition – Fall/Winter Sneakers

When Fall comes around, it's a matter of fighting the elements without the elements fighting your shoes. Seriously, what the heck are you supposed to wear when it starts to rain & hail? Rain boots all freaking month!? Thankfully there's Vans Mountain Edition. Van's weatherized sneaker collection reinvents their classic skate styles, to include great new sneaker additions in store (uhm, literally) for both men & women. But time around for Fall/Winter 2015, they're new & improved!

Thanks to Vans, I got to test out a pair of Vans SK8-Hi MTE in the fabulous “glazed ginger” color. Embarrassing as it is, this is my first pair of Vans as an adult & my first ever hi top sneaker. Yes, I know, shocking, but what can you do?! Happy this is my first pair, because not only are they perfect for Fall, but the ideal pair for the cold, rainy days we're having here across Canada. Heck, I even wore them to Toronto Fashion Week when it rained on Day 2. Paired with this almost exact outfit, I headed on over to David Pecaut Square to snap some street style pictures & take in some shows. I love the rich orange/cognac color of the suede uppers & red/black plaid “Canadian Lumberjack” material around the collar. Probably what drew me to them in the first place!

They're comfortable, cozy, fit true to size & are a great new addition to my expanding sneaker collection! Being a unisex shoe, they do fit much like a men's shoe (read: wide). As a no-nonsense person always on the go, I'm starting to really appreciate not only flats, but stylish sneakers that can withstand rain, spills & the odd kick & stomp here & there (thanks to running peanuts, of course!). So what about all the innovative weatherized extras that are packed in these hi-top sneakers you ask?
