Black Pumps with the Canadian Tuxedo for Fall
It was all about the Canadian tuxedo last season: both the stylish celeb class (Olivia P.) & trash (Kim K.) were caught sporting the double denim looks with blue jeans & chambray all over NYC & LA. This, however, doesn't mean a good ‘ol Canadian tux can't be worn well within the current Fall 2014 season. Especially not in Toronto, Canada, if I can help it! Wearing denim on denim with black suede pumps is my second favorite way to sport the trendy jean pairing, right after patent nude pumps.
But I wanted to show off my yellow trench again, so blush-tone pumps were not going to do the trick. Also, the search is still on for a stylish pair of skin tone stilettos that fit me right! And I have to say, when styled with the opportune clothing, a pair of black suede pumps can really stand out & make a statement all on their lonesome! I think they really pop with this outfit. Which brings me to another point about black high heels: if you're opting for a lesser expensive pump, stick with suede. Why? A really good imitation leather is hard to come by, but sueded fabrics tend to look more luxe vs. their faux leather counterparts. But I digress… Here are my two cents on how to style blue on blue during the cooler months, before winter hits hard. And pumps are no longer an option. Sigh!
How to Wear Double Denim this Fall Season
- As it's a statement on its own, no small accessories, such as statement belts or necklaces need distract from the double denim ensemble
- This also goes for the shoes, where simple, sleek pumps or ankle boots are your best bet.
- Avoid bright colored or heavily patterned shoes, unless you really know what you're doing!
- Long or mid-calf coats are best (& warmest!) in either a contrasting color or neutrals such as black/grey/camel.

Thanks Sharon! These tips don't apply to those with a keen eye for fashion & detail, as all rules can be broken :) I'd say they apply most to the those who want to play it safe & fret stepping out of their comfort zone. Great of you to stop by!

Yay, Canadian Tuxedo twins today!! I love this trench so much too. Not usually a fan of Zara outerwear, but as I just couldn't get my mind off this jacket from the moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it! It's great to add a little color to Fall :)
